You spend your days speaking French naturally through conversations, meals, cultural outings, and daily interactions. Following the arrival of our baby, guests now usually stay at Villa Barbieux, a charming nearby BnB that offers the perfect balance between authentic immersion and personal comfort
This program is designed for adult learners, including French teachers (FLE), who want to progress quickly and confidently while enjoying the culture, rhythm, and charm of life in France
Meet your teacher
Bonjour ! I’m Jérôme Vanbaelinghem, a certified and experienced French teacher with over 10 years of experience. I hold a DAEFLE diploma and a Master’s in Linguistics (FLE). I’ve taught in Mexico and France, and created this French immersion in Lille to offer something rare: a warm, personal, and deeply human way to learn French
My wife is Mexican, and together we cultivate a multicultural environment where languages and cultures are celebrated every day
Teaching style & methodology
No two learners are the same and no two immersions are either
My teaching is based on trust, enjoyment, and real communication. Each morning begins with a short check-in, followed by 3 hours of tailored private lessons using real materials (PDFs, videos, menus, crosswords, etc.). Everything we learn is directly useful for the afternoon’s activities: you’ll learn and use French in the moment

Schedule
🥐 8:00 AM – Breakfast at your BnB
🧠 9:00–12:00 – Personalized lessons
🥗 12:00–1:30 PM – Lunch (together or solo)
🎨 1:30–6:00 PM – Cultural outing or activity
🍷 7:30 PM – Shared dinner
Some afternoons are free for rest or personal exploration: an important part of any immersion
Your stay at Villa Barbieux
You’ll stay in the Art Deco room at Villa Barbieux, an elegant guesthouse located near Parc Barbieux, just a 5-minute walk from my apartment. Breakfast is served at the BnB each morning, and the tram offers quick access to Lille city center and the surrounding area. The setting is calm, comfortable, and ideal for making the most of your stay in France

Each week includes several guided cultural outings, selected according to your interests

✔️ Day trips to Arras, Cassel, or Saint-Omer
✔️ Flea markets, beer tastings, opera nights, or a bunker museum visit
You’ll always be accompanied or guided, while speaking French throughout the experience
